Regional Hub

Read a NYT article on censorship in Singapore. As a Singaporean, I dont really see why Westerners think that Singapore is such an important hub that it is irreplaceable as Asia Regional Headquarters. Can’t they see that just across the borders lies the Federated States of Malaysia, an alternative to expensive Singapore?

If they would relocate their weekly and monthly newletters and magazine publications to our Northern “Brother”, it will simulate their growth and also cut down on production cost potentially by half since the Sing is twice the Ringgit’s value. After these production lines are relocated up, they could have next build their alternative HQ at Kuala Lumpur or if they need the proximity of being close to Singapore, Johor Baru, technically just a stone throw away from Singapore proper.
